Over 500 hits
Mood:
a-ok
Got up this morning and thought I'd check the boards before I started my day. Over 500 hits yesterday to the photo album and not one lousy comment. You people suck, whoever you are. Hehe. So I removed them. Just wanted some honest feedback and seeing that I didn't get any....
I know it's right. I know Pook is there. But I'm not going, so find the park and go get him. I may eventually visit the park and search in the 2 places I think he might be, but for now, I'm just not interested in sticking my hand up, down, in or around any trees knothole.
Shower and church time.

Another Dream
Mood:
lazy
Yet another token dream last night to add to the many I've had in the last 4 1/2 months. This one is a little fuzzy. I don't remember if I actually found one or I was just about to find it or what. Then I woke up. Damn dogs! I've been trying to picture in my head exactly where I was since I woke up and I just can't. Not as vivid a dream as the one I had the other night.
Someone had posted yesterday that those states with state park fees should consider a city park. I've only been to 2 local city parks so far. One of them was the exact mate to the talking trees I first found. What did I find there? A geocache tin with a toy lizard in it. Where? In the knothole of a tree. How weird. The other park I went to was where I found John. Someone remind me to bring him some flowers when this is over. I doubt I'll make the trip out there again before October.
City parks. Do you know how many city parks we have here? Tons! Not to mention county parks and cities within the city parks. I actually thought about that already and had, at one time, pulled up a list of them. Nothing really stuck out at me at the time, so I dismissed the thought. But then again, does Santa Rosa or Ricketts Glen really stand out to anyone? At first it seemed these park names were all going to have someone's first name in them-as in the examples above. But then there was Foss and Lake Dardanelle. I don't know anyone with these names. The route he seems to have taken when placing these tokens was I40 for the southern half of the states and I80 for the upper portion. Seems stupid really with all the interstates that connect everywhere. So for any more out west, Mojave National Preserve may be a place to look into. Right off the I40 and stops in the Barstow, California area.
One thing bothers me about the city park thing. Ok, we have Beetle, Ant, Spider and Pook left. The beetle and spider are both up there in value. Ant and Pook are not, at least that we are sure of. Pook could end up being some grand prize or something instead of a measly $3000 or whatever. But take spider for example who is worth $450,000. Would you really hide her in a city park? Would you even hide her in a state park that doesn't require a fee? Someone is about to find a half million dollar jewel. Isn't $5 or $10 a small price to pay to find a half million dollars? I'd pay it!! If I was sure about the location.
Oh well, as I said last night, I'm sure at least 1 more will be found this weekend. Maybe 2. Someone will have a very nice Father's Day weekend! :)
Shower and work time. Darn it-late night Thursday for me and boy VB is gonna be busy today. That'll teach him to take a day off. I'm going to regret his day off tomorrow. Ah, got company coming on Friday afternoon too. Should be an interesting weekend. Father's Day, a birthday, company. Sheesh! No time for hunting! GGGGRRRRR. :) Oh well. We'll just have to wait and see if any are left when I return to the hunt on Sunday evening.

Overslept
Mood:
not sure
Woke up late this morning so didn't go like I wanted to. Oh well. That should have been an indication on how my day was going to be. Not that it was a bad day or anything, just a weird one. Constant interruptions at work. What normally takes me about 1-1 1/2 hours took 3 1/2 today. Hopefully tomorrow will go better.
No, I'm not going on my trip tomorrow morning. I was so disappointed that I woke up late this morning, I don't even feel like going now. Sorry Pook/spider, whichever one you are.
Got on AIM this morning when I got to work and noticed that MStadther was on again. I doubt it's the *real* him, though. He was on for a total of about 8 hours. Didn't have time to try to IM him again. Can you imagine if it really is him though? How many IM's can one computer get? He sure did sign off awfully fast last night after I IM'd him. Didn't even get a chance to write a response.
I have a feeling there will be at least 1 more found this weekend. Kids out of school, families taking their vacations, parks to get to, tree knotholes to probe. Knotholes of trees. Who woulda thought? Hope the next one he does aren't going to be in knotholes of trees. Pretty silly if you think about. Environmental kind of guy hides gold tokens inside the knotholes of trees. People go searching inside these knotholes for said tokens, leaving behind scraped out trees, ripped bark and a bigger mess in our parks. This doesn't seem to make sense to me. Perhaps he didn't realize it would turn out this way. And the story, do we not realize how Rusful we're being?
LOL Think about this: Zac had in his hands 12 jewels. Ok, in the story they're "crystallized forest creatures", but for the sake of argument let's say that they are the actual jewels. These jewels, according to the book, are worth over $1 million dollars. $1,002,700 to be exact. By now, they're worth well more than that. How many of us would give up those jewels for our spouses? Many people have asked the question why did Zac and Ana leave Pook out there when they went home? Of course, that's part of the story, so that the rain could come down and make him alive again. Had they taken him home and put him inside, this may not have happened. But no one has asked "why did they leave the jewels?" Would you? Dead bad guy, jewels scattered in all directions and you walk home in the rain with your spouse and leave them all there? Yeah right! I woulda stooped and scooped them all up, stuck 'em in my pocket and put them in my new anniversary present!
I wonder if any one of these token finders will decide not to keep the jewel AND not take the money. Can you refuse the prize? You can refuse the prize by finding the token and never calling the phone number, yes! But once you call the phone number, can you refuse to redeem it? Can you request to just donate it to charity? The cash value of these jewels hardly seems worth it for the smaller ones. Heck, even dragonfly at $25,000 is only cash substituted at $7,500. Sure, I could spend it! And I know it's the thrill of the hunt and all that. I just wonder what these people are really going to do when actually faced with the option. Should be interesting. I'll put money that not one person donates a dime. Place your bets.

Spider and/or Pook
Mood:
caffeinated
Topic: Last Trip
I've decided that I have to take one more trip before this is all over. I'm leaving tomorrow morning at around 6ish. I still have no idea which token I'm looking for-spider or pook, but at this point, I don't even care. I just want to find one. I know exactly where I'm going now. You figure out a little bit more each time you look at stuff. I have a perfect map match, and I've finally figured out what E.T. really means. Well, I'm sure it has multiple meanings, I finally found the one that applies.
Soooo, if neither one are already gone, I'm a comin'.

Yeeeeek!!!!
Just for the heck of it I did a google search for "ladyfeline" and all this stuff popped up. None of it is me!! LOL. I've been Ladyfeline since 1994 when I first got AOL. Imposters!!! Apparently, I'm an atheist, but I'm pretty good with web and computer stuff. Hmmm. Maybe I can email her, see if she can find the friggin spider. :)
Heh! Really going to bed now. I'm soooo sleepy.

My Dream
Mood:
don't ask
I had a dream last night that I finally found the token. I don't even know which one I found, but the important part was that I had it. I think the mayor was with me and he gave me the final clue of exactly where I needed to go and how it was hidden. He knew I already had the right place. I remember in my dream seeing the sparkle of the gold swaying within the leaves of the tree. It was magical. Too bad I woke up and realized that I hadn't really found anything. :(
The clues to the place seem to be everywhere except for its final resting place. I'm sure that's been given also, but I missed it. No tree out there looks like anything from the book. Well, not any of the ones pictured in the way the other found tokens have. So close, so close!! I'm right on top of it, I know it. I can feel it. But I'm afraid I will end up tokenless when all this is said and done. I'm sure I will kick myself in the ass when the find is made. What a blow that will be. I'm not looking forward to it.
Goin to bed now to dream of tokens lost.

Theory
Well, that hunt shot my theory all to pieces. Darn it!! Unless of course, someone else found her. Argh!! Which I hate to think about, let alone say. Sheesh! It was perfect! PERFECT!! Nothing there but an empty hole. :( So, I filled it. Heh! I know she wasn't in there, but no one else will find that hole. Packed the dirt in there pretty good . If I ever make it back out there, I'll know if someone dug it up or not.
I wonder when they're checked on, if at all. They've gotta be checked on by someone though. If I'd have found her, I wasn't going to post it or claim it right away. I wonder how long it would have taken them to notice she was gone. I mean really-what if someone does find one of these by accident? Would they simply call the number on the back? Would he really redeem that person as a finder if they couldn't tell how they solved it, since they didn't solve anything? I wonder about these things, call me crazy! And if he says they're not a "true" finder, that would make that token null and void. THAT totally sucks for the person who actually spent all the time to figure it out and it wasn't there. I know the chances are slim that this would happen, just as slim as they are for me finding one, but slim is not totally "not at all", so...
I should put an ad in the paper. LOST GOLD CHARM Spider on the front, phone number on the back. If found, please call.........ME. Heehee. Very valuable, reward if returned. Blah, blah, blah. Darn it! Why wasn't she there? JB JB, I thought you were the One. I got "soaked" too when the sprinklers came on. You would have come in handy! :) Good thing I keep fast food napkins in the car. Good nite, John. From your new desert friend.

Sad Sad Story
Ok, if I've figured out this story as it pertains to my puzzle, I think. This is the saddest story I have ever read. I wish I could say more at this point, but I can't do it without giving some of it away. All's I can say is that I don't think I'm after the hummingbird anymore. I think it's the spider that I'm after. The grand kahuna. The royal flush. The biggest prize of them all. And, I'm almost positive I know where she is. She has been difficult to track down. But it all started coming together for me yesterday. I have seen all 8 of her eyes and as dragonfly, I don't know which one to look into. The first one I found "by accident". That was almost 3 months ago. Two, I looked into yesterday and was quite disappointed that it cost me $6 to check out 1 of them. But I had to. No luck. I guess I'll have to go back and reread that part of the story where dragonfly talks about her eight eyes. I hope no one else has come this far. Mine truly is a great story. Not my "personal" story, but the story that I'm working on. One thing I hope doesn't happen and I know this is going to sound strange, but I hope, (if I find her) it doesn't take away from the 1st finder. He hasn't even been on TV or interviews yet. The spider find at this point may take away all his hoopla and I really don't want that. He was the first finder and I congratulate him for a job well done. He should get the hoopla. If, by chance, I do find her, I think I'll wait a bit before calling the number. Give Elrohir a chance to do his thing. I would have 30 days once she was found anyway, so if it were today, that would give me until June 24th. I doubt it will be today, but I'm hopeful. :)
With the dragonfly found, I'm extremely disappointed in how easy, (in retrospect), it seemed to have been. Crack one leaf vein code and there you have it? End of story? No morals to learn? No great story to have figured out? Where's the fit? Dragonfly in Pennsylvania? Why the heck for? It isn't even like they both have the same number of letters in their names or anything. Ricketts Glen? I just don't get it. Why would Dragonfly have to wear glasses? Simply because he's some sort of aviator? The Air Group leader? And Pennsylvania has what to do with that? The aviator was Howard Hughes, wasn't it, played by Leonardo DeCaprio ?? Argh! Too easy for $25,000, me thinks. I wonder if he will keep the jewel. Too bad he has to give the token back. Beautiful!!
Perhaps, if I find her, I'll just keep her all to myself. I don't plan on taking a camera or taking any pictures of any find while I'm out there. If I do find her, I'll have to go back and do that though, for all the people who will have questions. Don't worry John, I'll keep you my secret forever. That will be up to MS to disclose if he wishes. For now, I consider you the greatest flower fairy of them all. Even if the pictures say they're all women. Don't you end up being a Pick or a Koot!! :)

New Blog
Mood:
mischievious
I decided to separate treasure hunting blogs from LJ blogs. Just so people don't have to read all my personal crap while reading treasure crap. As soon as I have more time, I will be importing the few treasure posts I have and moving them over to here. And hopefully, I'll have more pictures to share.

My Take
I cannot say that it's a solution, it's more of a take. So here's my take on clue #2. "There are no intentional red herrings posted in March. Not April 1." I honestly don't know the correct order of the sentences, or how many sentences there actually are. It could be "There are no intentional red herrings. Posted in March, not April 1." But I don't think that really matters. What I noticed is that it is structured a lot like the rest of the book. I see 2 numbers in there-the 1, obviously and then the word "ten" in "intentional". So, starting with the "t" right after "ten", I started counting 10 letters. HSHTILGMR Looks like gibberish doesn't it? More letters after this and it was really gibberish, so I stopped there. I saw the word "light" right away, then Mr. HS. Saw I thought of Mr. Lighthouse?? Who the heck is Mr. Lighthouse?? Well, look it up. Apparently, his name is Ken Black. Then I thought the word "red". Black, red=checkers?? King? I then took the first letter of each word as indicated by the "1". TANIRHPIMNA That looked like anagramming. Got a few interesting things out of that. "Rainman Pith". "A Ham in Print". "Hint: Rain Map". And a few others. I'm still working on putting these things together.
